Holocene Alpha (2D) now includes: orientation control;
movement; teleportation; text scrolling; automatic window-sizing by
distance, orientation and reputation; bird's eye view, transcripting;
simple font ageing; user-assigned reputation; window-sizing by time
since last message; first stage kiosks.
Also implemented: User personal profiles, attention-alert arrows, z-shifting. "Pinning"
allows a user to grab and move the conversation windows of other users,
creating stacked arrays that can easily be scanned for interesting
content.
Phase One items awaiting installation:
text compression; "gisting" and text restoration; selective transcript;
key-word alerts; optional user text display; global reputation systems;
simple game walls barriers; file exchange.
Farther downstream: Conversion to 3D rendering, avatars,
locale overlays sophisticated service kiosks, IM empowerment, game
